Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in the sextortion case involving blackmailer Archana Nag, her associate Shradhanjali Behera today appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at its office here, this morning.
The agency had earlier issued a notice to Shradhanjali summoning her for appearance. The investigators are likely to question Shradhanjali over her alleged involvement with Archana in blackmailing and extorting money from influential persons.
Odia film producer Akshay Parija, who was allegedly blackmailed by Archana, had brought allegations against Shradhanjali. Later, the ED had visited Shradhanjali’s residence and inquired into the matter.
Parija had accused Archana of demanding Rs 3 crore after allegedly capturing his intimate photographs.
The ED has traced Rs 2.5 crore deposits in the bank accounts of Archana and Jagabandhu between 2017 and 2022.
She is accused of amassing over Rs 30 crore along with her husband between 2018 and 2022 by blackmailing and threatening some politicians and rich people.
