In yet another security breach, an attempted theft was reported at the residence of senior Congress leader and former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik. The incident occurred at house number N/25 in IRC Village, Nayapalli, where a thief was caught trying to break in through a window.
Patnaik’s staff apprehended the intruder and immediately alerted the police. The accused has been arrested, and interrogation is currently underway to determine further details.
This is the second such incident in less than a week. Earlier, on January 26, a theft had taken place at Patnaik’s N/29 residence in the same area. The repeated break-ins have raised concerns about security lapses in the locality.
Police officials have assured a thorough investigation into both incidents, with efforts to determine if the two cases are linked. Meanwhile, security measures at the leader’s residence have reportedly been strengthened to prevent further occurrences.
