Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Australia from July 8 to 10 for the Annual Leaders’ Summit, reinforcing the growing India-Australia partnership.
Albanese said he felt honoured to host his “friend” Modi and emphasised that the relationship between the two nations drives peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.
PM Modi will arrive in Australia after his Indonesia visit as part of a six-day Indo-Pacific tour covering Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand. The summit will focus on defence cooperation, clean energy, critical minerals, investment, and emerging technologies. Both leaders aim to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that underpins bilateral ties.
Albanese expressed his eagerness to deepen collaboration and recalled his previous meeting with Modi during the G20 Summit in Johannesburg in November 2025. He highlighted India’s role as the world’s fourth-largest and fastest-growing economy and described it as a vital economic partner for Australia.
PM Modi will also address the Indian diaspora at the “Melbourne Meets Modi” event on July 9 at Marvel Stadium. The gathering will celebrate cultural and economic ties between the two nations.
The visit marks another milestone in India-Australia relations, reflecting shared interests in regional security, sustainable development, and innovation. Albanese said he looked forward to hosting Modi again and continuing the momentum of cooperation built during his own visit to India.
