Actor Akanksha Chamola has spoken candidly about her decision to part ways with husband Gaurav Khanna, revealing that their differing perspectives on parenthood played a significant role in their separation.
During the latest episode of Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa, Akanksha shared that she has chosen to remain child-free, while Gaurav wishes to become a father. She said the difference in life goals ultimately led them to decide on a divorce.
Akanksha Chamola Explains the Reason Behind the Divorce
Speaking on the reality show, Akanksha said she never experienced a maternal instinct, although she initially remained open to exploring the possibility after marriage.
She explained that over time she realised that motherhood was not the path she wanted for herself and that she had communicated this clearly to Gaurav.
According to Akanksha, Gaurav initially accepted her decision, but his desire to have children became stronger with time, creating a difference in their long-term goals.

While discussing their separation, Akanksha said she does not believe either of them is at fault.
She shared that many people choose marriage with the hope of building a family, but acknowledged that individual priorities and aspirations can differ.
Akanksha said she felt it would be unfair to prevent Gaurav from pursuing the life he wanted if becoming a parent was important to him.
She also revealed that she does not wish to adopt a child and remains committed to living a child-free life.
Gaurav Khanna Yet to Respond
As of now, Gaurav Khanna has not publicly commented on Akanksha’s latest statements.
The actor is currently participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15.
Previously, during his appearance on Bigg Boss, Gaurav had spoken emotionally about the topic after being questioned about his family’s plans.
At the time, he said he had always respected his wife’s personal choice despite his own desire to become a father, describing the issue as deeply personal and deserving of understanding.
A Decade-Long Relationship
Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna married in November 2016 after dating for several years.
The couple reportedly met during an audition before falling in love and tying the knot in Gaurav’s hometown of Kanpur.
Akanksha is known for her performances in television shows including Santoshi Maa, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and Crime Patrol.
