Major Indian carriers—including Air India, IndiGo, and Air India Express—have officially cancelled their scheduled flights to and from Riyadh until Oct 10, citing escalating security concerns.
The decision follows a series of recent attacks and ballistic missile strikes claimed by Yemen-based Houthi rebels targeting Saudi airports.
The ongoing regional volatility prompted warnings from the Houthi movement regarding operations within Saudi airspace, leading airlines to take precautionary measures. Representatives for Air India Express confirmed that affected passengers are being provided options for complimentary rescheduling or full refunds on cancellations.
Meanwhile, Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport has advised all travellers to directly verify their flight statuses with their respective airlines prior to heading to the terminal. Aviation authorities and carriers continue to monitor the evolving situation closely to ensure passenger and crew safety.
