AIIMS Bhubaneswar earned the 10th position among India’s top medical colleges in the India Today-MDRA Best Medical Colleges Survey 2026.
The institute also secured the 2nd spot among the Top 5 Most Improved Medical Colleges nationwide. This result highlights its rapid progress in quality healthcare delivery and medical education.
The survey assessed institutions on five key parameters: Intake Quality and Governance, Academic Excellence, Infrastructure and Living Experience, Personality and Leadership Development, and Placement and Career Progression.AIIMS Bhubaneswar improved dramatically from its 25th rank in 2021 to the current 10th position. The institute demonstrated consistent growth across all evaluation areas through focused efforts in academics, research, and patient care.
Executive Director Dr Ashutosh Biswas credited the achievement to collective dedication. He stated that the recognition reflects the institute’s relentless pursuit of excellence. AIIMS Bhubaneswar now symbolises trust, innovation, and integrity in healthcare and medical education. The continued rise in national rankings shows its holistic approach toward developing future medical leaders and delivering superior patient outcomes.
A special felicitation programme took place on campus to celebrate the milestone. Senior faculty and administrative leaders attended the event. Executive Director Dr Ashutosh Biswas, Dean (Academic) Dr Dillip Kumar Parida, Dean (Examination) Dr Manaswini Mangaraj, DDA Lt. Col. Abhijit Sarkar, Registrar Dr Sudipta Kumar Singh, along with Dr Soubhagya Kumar Jena and Dr Sanjay Kumar Giri, participated in the programme.
