After nearly three weeks of intensive care, the artist has been successfully shifted from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to the general medicine ward at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where his treatment continues under close medical supervision.

Majumdar, known for his soulful melodies and directorial ventures that have captivated audiences across Odisha, was admitted to the hospital 20 days ago due to a sudden deterioration in his health. Sources indicate that his condition escalated rapidly due to liver cirrhosis, a chronic liver ailment he has been battling for some time. Compounded by a severe bout of pneumonia and related lung complications, he was initially rushed to a local private hospital in Cuttack before being transferred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced care.

Six days prior, Majumdar had been weaned off a ventilator and moved to the ICU, marking an early sign of progress in combating a persistent lung infection. AIIMS medical authorities confirmed that his respiratory issues have shown notable improvement, allowing for this latest transition to the general ward. “There is a slight but encouraging enhancement in his neurological status as well,” a hospital spokesperson stated, adding that the multidisciplinary team remains vigilant in managing his liver-related issues through ongoing medication and supportive therapies.
