The Delhi Police on Sunday released a video showing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke declining offers of travel assistance and family communication following the news of his grandmother’s demise.
Dipke, who was put under preventive detention during ongoing protests demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, was approached by officers immediately upon receiving news of his grandmother’s passing.

Officials stated that police personnel sensitively informed Dipke of the loss and offered full humanitarian support, including arrangements for flights, trains, or buses to facilitate his travel home, as well as assistance with making phone calls to his family.
According to DCP Neha Yadav, Dipke repeatedly declined the offers and chose not to speak with his parents at that moment. The video disclosure by the Delhi Police follows allegations from Dipke’s family claiming that authorities failed to convey the news promptly and delayed his release, preventing him from attending the final rites.
