Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Sunday inaugurated the Boeing Sukanya STEM Lab, Aeromodelling Training Centre and AI Lab at Koshal Vidyalaya in Nuakhaiarpali village, Bargarh district. He underlined the need to empower rural girl students through science, scientific temper and technological innovation.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said talent should never remain confined by circumstances. Every student must get the opportunity to utilise her skills fully. These modern facilities would foster curiosity, research and innovation among students and help realise their dreams in science and technology. The STEM lab would promote practical learning in science and mathematics, the aeromodelling centre would impart knowledge of flight, design and engineering, while the AI lab would introduce emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, creating new opportunities in aviation, robotics and related fields.
He stressed extending modern science-based education from urban to remote rural areas, especially western Odisha, to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. The Governor paid tribute to the late founder of the school, Gannimani Ananda Rao, praising his contribution to rural education.
Earlier, the Governor inaugurated the 23rd festival of the Koshal Andhra Cultural Association at Attabira. He highlighted the cultural harmony and strong bonds between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, noting the Telugu community’s long presence in western Odisha since the Hirakud Dam project. He called for greater cooperation in education, industry, sports and culture.
