Odisha Vigilance arrested Chintamani Mallick, former Secretary of Juba Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS) Ltd. under Belpada Block, Balangir district, for misappropriating over Rs 14.22 lakh of government and society funds.
Investigators revealed that Mallick executed a systemic financial fraud across multiple financial years — 2016‑17, 2020‑21, 2021‑22, and 2022‑23. The probe uncovered serious discrepancies, including unrecorded seed proceeds, omission of seed sales from official accounts, suppressed closing balances in the Day Book, fake bank deposits to cover shortages, and excess withdrawals from savings deposits.
Odisha Vigilance registered Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No.16/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Mallick. Following his arrest, he was forwarded to the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balangir.
