Netflix has released a vibrant dance video featuring actors Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Priyanka Kedia engaged in a high-energy showdown to promote their upcoming coming-of-age film, Best of the Best. The lead duo can be seen going head-to-head to the hit Tamil track Maamadura Annakodi from the 2023 film Jigarthanda DoubleX.
The playful face-off showcases both actors matching step-for-step, bringing their own style to Santhosh Narayanan’s infectious composition. Ramakrishnan, who gained international acclaim through Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, has frequently highlighted her Sri Lankan Tamil heritage, making the track selection a natural fit.
Set against the competitive backdrop of collegiate Bollywood-fusion dance, Best of the Best follows childhood best friends Maya (Ramakrishnan) and Anjali (Kedia) as their relationship is tested during a pursuit of a national U.S. Championship.
Directed by Lena Khan (Flora & Ulysses) and penned by Prashanth Venkataramanujam alongside comedian Hasan Minhaj, the film delves into themes of ambition, young adulthood, and cultural identity. The ensemble cast features Hasan Minhaj, Lilly Singh, Janina Gavankar, Ankur Rathee, and Chaneil Kular.
Best of the Best premieres globally on Netflix on September 18.
