Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged young graduates to stay curious, keep learning and remain open to change as they prepare to shape India’s future.

Addressing the 57th convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Modi said the pace of technological and global change has made it difficult to predict what the next two or three decades will look like.

“Keep your curiosity alive in life… Keep your learning instinct alive. Those who learn, win,” Modi said.

PM Modi urges Gen Z to turn challenges into opportunities

The prime minister encouraged students to approach new situations with an open mind. He said people who are willing to adapt can turn challenges into opportunities by finding new solutions.

Modi said this ability to respond to change was among the important lessons students had gained during their time at IIT Delhi.

“People who are open to new situations and challenges will turn challenges into chances,” he said.

He also highlighted the emergence of new sectors in India and said these areas would create more opportunities for young people.

Technology driving changes in global power balance

Modi said technology is playing a major role in reshaping the global balance of power.

“The global power balance is changing every moment and the biggest force behind it is the speed of technology,” he said.

He pointed to the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and noted that new AI-related initiatives had also been launched at IIT Delhi.

The prime minister urged graduates to stay prepared for technological changes and continue developing their skills throughout their careers.

PM Modi highlights India’s semiconductor push

Modi also spoke about India’s efforts to strengthen domestic semiconductor manufacturing.

He recalled that there had been questions about India’s decision to develop the semiconductor industry. However, he said production has now begun at the country’s first semiconductor unit.

“I firmly believe that from chips to ships, everything will be made here by your hands,” Modi said.

The prime minister said India’s growing focus on self-reliance was opening new opportunities across sectors for young people.

Over 3,000 students receive degrees

More than 3,000 graduating students received their degrees at the IIT Delhi convocation, including 587 PhD scholars.

Addressing the graduating class, Modi encouraged students to carry forward the spirit of curiosity and innovation beyond the campus.

His message focused on continuous learning, adaptability and the role of young people in India’s technological and economic transformation.

As graduates begin their professional journeys, the prime minister said their ability to learn, adapt and create solutions would be crucial in shaping India’s future.
