The inaugural Utkarsh Nimaparha Sammilani 2025, a landmark event aimed at transforming Nimapara into a model constituency, was launched today at the New Barabati Ground Indoor Stadium.

The event was graced by Governor Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati and Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida, who jointly set the stage for a comprehensive development agenda for the 147th Assembly constituency of Odisha.

The sammelan commenced with a ceremonial tree plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Sena Ke Naam” initiative at PM Shri Nodal High School, Nimaparh, symbolising a commitment to environmental sustainability. The Governor and Deputy CM planted saplings in honour of the Indian Armed Forces, setting a tone of reverence and responsibility.

This was followed by the inauguration of the Subhadra Shakti Mela, a vibrant showcase of handmade products and goods crafted by women’s self-help groups (SHGs). The dignitaries toured the stalls, applauding the entrepreneurial spirit of local women and their contributions to economic self-reliance.

In her address, Deputy CM Smt. Pravati Parida, who also serves as the MLA of Nimaparha, outlined an ambitious vision for the constituency. She emphasised that Utkarsh Nimaparha aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat vision for 2047 and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s goal of a Viksit Odisha by 2036. “This sammilani is a cornerstone for sustainable economic growth, enhanced education and healthcare, industrial advancement, and job creation in Nimaparha,” she stated. Smt. Parida expressed gratitude to the people of Nimaparha for electing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a year ago, forming a “people’s government.” She pledged to uphold public trust and work tirelessly to fulfil all promises, with a roadmap for the next four years to be crafted based on the sammelan’s outcomes.

The first day of the event featured robust discussions on six critical themes: rural development, healthcare, education, smart Nimaparha, women’s empowerment, and a crime-free Nimaparha. Intellectuals, public representatives, and citizens engaged in vibrant exchanges, with the insights gathered set to form a Vision Document. This document will guide the constituency’s development over the next four years, ensuring a structured and inclusive approach to progress.

A key highlight was the focus on women’s empowerment. The sammelan announced the goal of creating five Lakhpati Didis (self-reliant women entrepreneurs) in every village, alongside strengthening Project Management Units (PMUs) and generating additional employment opportunities. The Subhadra Shakti Mela exemplified this commitment, showcasing the potential of SHGs to drive economic growth.

Governor Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati described the sammilani as a “jagrukta” (awakening) for Nimapara, emphasising its role in fostering growth in industry, tourism, and skill development. He lauded the leadership of PM Modi, CM Majhi, and Deputy CM Parida, expressing confidence that Nimaparha would emerge as a frontrunner in Odisha’s development journey. “A developed constituency is the foundation for a developed Odisha and a developed India,” he remarked.

The event also addressed critical local issues, such as flood control in the Dhanua River. Jagatsinghpur MP Shri Bibhu Prasad Tarai thanked CM Majhi and Deputy CM Parida for approving permanent measures to mitigate flooding, a longstanding concern for the region.

Several individuals were honoured during the event. Nine meritorious students, including Tanmaya Mishra (567/600 in Class 10) and Rajesh Kumar Nayak (562/600 in Class 12), were felicitated for their academic excellence. Sanitation workers Jayanti Bewa and Santosh Mallick, along with Lakhpati Didis Sanyukta Swain and Kalpana De, and other entrepreneurs supported by the Subhadra Yojana, were recognised for their contributions to society and the economy. The Governor also unveiled the Utkarsh Nimaparha website, a digital platform to track the initiative’s progress, and was presented with a memento of Chhena Jhilli by the local administration.

The event saw participation from prominent figures, including Satyabadi MLA Om Prakash Mishra, Brahmagiri MLA Smt. Upasana Mohapatra, Pipili MLA Ashrit Pattnayak, Puri MLA Sunil Mohanty, Mission Shakti Director Manisha Priyadarshini, Puri District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, SP Vinit Agrawal, and Nimapara BDO Abhijit Sarangi, among others.

As Utkarsh Nimapara Conclave 2025 sets a bold precedent, it promises to be a catalyst for transforming Nimapara into a beacon of progress, aligning local aspirations with national and state-level development goals.
