TRAI Empowers India’s Billion-Plus Mobile Users with Real-Time Voice Call Feedback Tool

TRAI MyCall app revamp

In a major push to put power back in the hands of India’s more than one billion telecom subscribers, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today rolled out a completely revamped version of its popular “TRAI MyCall” mobile application.

Voice calling remains the most basic yet most critical telecom service. While operators track technical Quality of Service (QoS) numbers, what customers actually *feel* — the Quality of Experience (QoE) — often tells a very different story. TRAI MyCall now bridges that exact gap.

The upgraded app lets users instantly rate every call on a simple 1-to-5 star scale the moment it ends. Beyond the stars, consumers can flag specific problems: call drops, echo, audio delay, cross-connection, voice breaking, one-way audio, or calls that take forever to connect. All feedback, along with relevant network data, is shared in anonymised form with both the telecom service providers and TRAI.

“Every telecom consumer experiences network quality first-hand,” said TRAI Chairman Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti. “The revamped TRAI MyCall app will strengthen consumer participation… Every feedback matters, and together we can build a better calling experience for every telecom consumer.”

Key consumer-friendly upgrades include:
– Automatic post-call rating prompts so you never forget to give feedback
– Interactive map showing your past ratings and problem hotspots
– Coverage Test feature to check signal strength on the go

Telecom operators will now receive precise, location-linked insights to fix weak spots faster, while TRAI gains real-world data to strengthen its regulatory oversight.

The Android version is already live on Google Play Store. TRAI has urged every mobile user to download the app and start rating calls regularly.

In a country where a single dropped call can mean a missed business deal or a delayed emergency, TRAI MyCall turns ordinary users into active partners in building a clearer, more reliable mobile network for everyone.
