The Election Commission of India has released a revised work schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls in Odisha. The revision uses July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date for eligibility.

According to the updated timeline, the period for filing claims and objections runs from July 5, 2026, to August 19, 2026. During this window, eligible citizens can apply for inclusion of names, correction of details, or raise objections against existing entries in the draft electoral rolls.

Notices will be issued and hearings on claims and objections conducted from July 5, 2026, through September 17, 2026. Electoral Registration Officers will examine submissions and dispose of cases during this phase to ensure accuracy and fairness.

The final electoral roll under SIR-2026 is scheduled for publication on September 21, 2026. This marks a key milestone in purifying and updating the state’s voter database ahead of future elections.

The Special Intensive Revision involves house-to-house verification and aims to include all eligible voters while removing ineligible names. Citizens are encouraged to check the draft rolls at their local polling stations or through official portals and submit claims or objections within the stipulated period with supporting documents.

Officials have urged voters, Booth Level Officers, and political party representatives to actively participate so that no eligible citizen is left out of the democratic process. The revised schedule provides additional time for thorough verification and public engagement.

For more details, residents can contact their local Electoral Registration Officer or visit the official websites of the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha.
