A software professional from Pune has become an inspiration for aspiring tech workers after revealing how a remote job with a US-based company helped him earn more than ₹5.5 lakh per month while living in India.

Ajinkya Nalamwar, a 35-year-old technology professional, works remotely for a company based in Florida, United States. His story highlights how experience, skill development and professional visibility can open doors to global career opportunities.

From Tier-3 College Graduate to Global Professional

Ajinkya shared that his journey was built over more than a decade of hard work in the information technology sector.

Starting from a college that many would consider a Tier-3 institution, he gradually gained expertise and spent over six years working as a Scrum Master. His first job paid an annual salary of just ₹3.14 lakh.

Today, his monthly earnings exceed that amount.

According to Ajinkya, success did not happen overnight.

“I’ve spent more than 12 years building my career and continuously improving my skills,” he explained.

LinkedIn Visibility Opened New Opportunities

One of the key factors behind his career growth was maintaining an active professional presence online.

Ajinkya regularly updated his LinkedIn profile and shared insights about projects, solutions and workplace achievements.

His efforts eventually caught the attention of a recruiter in September 2025.

Interestingly, he was not actively searching for a new role when the opportunity arrived.

After several rounds of interviews and discussions over a few months, he accepted an offer from a US-based company and joined in March 2026 after completing his notice period.

How Much Does He Earn?

Ajinkya disclosed that his monthly compensation is approximately $6,000.

After accounting for taxes, banking fees and foreign exchange deductions, he receives around ₹5.5 lakh per month on average.

The salary structure also includes performance-based incentives that are paid during review cycles.

Managing Expenses and Saving More Than 60%

Despite earning a high income, Ajinkya follows a disciplined financial strategy.

One of his biggest achievements was paying off his home loan early, allowing him to live without rent or EMI obligations.

His monthly household expenses in Pune are approximately ₹85,000, covering:

  • House help
  • Childcare support
  • Electricity and utilities
  • Fuel expenses
  • Healthcare costs
  • Daily household needs

He also invests ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 every month through SIPs for his daughter’s future and spends around ₹5,000 on her education.

Strong Focus on Investments

With major liabilities cleared, Ajinkya directs a significant portion of his income toward wealth creation.

He saves between 60% and 62% of his earnings every month.

His investment portfolio includes:

  • Mutual funds
  • SIPs
  • Gold investments
  • Emergency savings
  • Vacation funds through arbitrage investments

His wife also contributes to the family’s financial stability by saving most of her salary.

Lessons for Young Professionals

Ajinkya believes that educational background alone does not determine long-term success.

According to him, consistent skill development, professional networking and creating visibility for one’s work are more important factors in career growth.

His journey from a ₹3.14 lakh annual salary to earning ₹5.5 lakh every month demonstrates how global remote opportunities are changing career possibilities for Indian professionals.

The Growing Appeal of Remote US Jobs

As international companies increasingly hire talent from around the world, skilled Indian professionals are finding new opportunities to earn global salaries while continuing to live in India.

For many workers, this model offers the advantage of higher income, lower living costs and greater financial freedom.

Ajinkya’s success story reflects a growing trend where experience, expertise and digital networking are helping professionals build rewarding international careers without relocating abroad.
