A Bolero carrying ten people from Sorada in Brahmapur overturned near Pipili while heading to Puri for Jagannath darshan late Thursday night.
The vehicle hit a roadside tree on the Nirakarpur–Puri new Jagannath road and flipped over.
The impact left all ten passengers injured. Nine were admitted to Puri District Headquarters Hospital, and one was shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the Bolero lost control while negotiating a curve and crashed into a tree. Locals rushed to help and alerted police and emergency services. Firefighters and medical teams reached the spot quickly and assisted in rescue operations.
Police began investigating the cause of the accident and are examining whether speeding or mechanical failure led to the crash. The damaged vehicle was later removed from the road to restore traffic flow.
