An unprecedented incident rocked Boudh district as Uma Panchayat Sarpanch Doulat Pandey sustained injuries after being assaulted by Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) Lal Majhi.
The clash occurred in the Kantamal block on Thursday night following a heated argument between the two officials.
According to reports, the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation. The PEO allegedly attacked the sarpanch, leaving him bleeding. Pandey immediately lodged a complaint at Ghantapada police station around 10 PM, demanding strict action against the accused.
Local sources described the incident as the first of its kind in the district, sparking shock among residents. The confrontation reportedly began over administrative issues before turning violent.
Police registered the complaint and initiated an investigation. Authorities assured that the matter will be probed thoroughly and appropriate legal steps will follow.
