India Condemns Kabul Hospital Strike, Calls It ‘Barbaric and Cowardly’

The government of India has strongly condemned Pakistan following a deadly airstrike on a hospital in Kabul, which reportedly killed at least 400 people and left over 250 injured.

In a sharp statement, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) described the attack as “barbaric, cowardly, and unconscionable,” accusing Pakistan of attempting to disguise a massacre as a military operation.

‘No Justification for Targeting a Hospital’

The MEA emphasized that no moral, legal, or religious grounds could justify an attack on a medical facility and civilians.

“There is no faith, no law, and no morality that can justify the deliberate targeting of a hospital and its patients.”

India further noted that the timing of the strike during Ramzan makes the act even more reprehensible, highlighting the sensitivity of the holy month for Muslims worldwide.

Threat to Regional Peace

The Indian government termed the strike an attack on Afghanistan’s sovereignty and warned that such actions pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

The statement accused Pakistan of a “persistent pattern of reckless behaviour” and attempting to externalize internal issues through cross-border violence.

Pakistan Denies Allegations

Meanwhile, Pakistan has denied targeting civilian infrastructure, claiming that its operations were aimed solely at militant or military installations within Afghanistan.

However, reports from the ground indicate that the strike hit a 2,000-bed rehabilitation hospital, causing massive casualties and destruction.

Rising Tensions in the Region

The incident has further escalated tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, amid ongoing border clashes and deteriorating diplomatic ties.

With global attention now focused on the situation, calls for an independent international investigation are growing louder.
