The Ministry of Panchayati Raj will host a felicitation ceremony on January 25, 2026, to honour elected Panchayat representatives invited as Special Guests for the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.
Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, will felicitate the honourees in the presence of Secretary Shri Vivek Bharadwaj and senior officials of the ministry.
The event will also witness the release of several landmark initiatives and publications. These include PANCHAM – Panchayat Assistance and Messaging Chatbot developed with UNICEF, the 17th issue of Gramoday Sankalp magazine, the Compendium of Basic Statistics on Panchayati Raj Institutions–2025, the Expert Committee Report on Service Delivery at the Panchayat Level, and the PESA Performance and Implementation Rank Indicators. Winners of the Know Your Constitution Quiz and Essay Competition, held during Constitution Day 2025, will also receive prizes and certificates.
Around 240 Panchayat heads, nominated by States and Union Territories, will be recognised for achieving saturation in flagship Central Government schemes. Including their spouses, nearly 450 Special Guests will attend the Republic Day Parade. They will also visit the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya to experience India’s leadership journey since Independence and witness the Ministry’s tableau themed “SVAMITVA Scheme: Aatmanirbhar Panchayat se Samriddh evam Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to empowering Panchayati Raj Institutions and recognising grassroots leadership as a cornerstone of Viksit Bharat.
