Odisha CM Felicitates State Players of Women’s Blind T20 World Cup 2025

Four Odisha players receive Rs 11 lakh each for historic victory in Colombo

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi felicitated four women players from the state who represented India in the Women’s Blind T20 World Cup 2025.


The Indian team created history by defeating Nepal in a thrilling final held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The Odisha players included Phula Soren from Balasore, Parbati Marndi, Jamuna Rani Tudu from Mayurbhanj, and Basanthi Hansda. After returning from the championship, the Chief Minister welcomed them at his residence and honoured them for their remarkable achievement. He presented each player with a cheque of Rs 11 lakh as a reward for their contribution to the team’s success.

Majhi praised the players for their dedication and outstanding performance. Moreover, he said their determination and hard work brought glory to both the state and the nation. He described them as an inspiration for every Odia and encouraged them to continue their journey of success with confidence.

In addition, the Chief Minister emphasized that their achievement reflects the strength of perseverance and the spirit of sportsmanship. He assured continued support from the state government for athletes who bring pride to Odisha.

Meanwhile, Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Director Dr. Vedula Vijay, team coach Debasish Jena, and other senior officials attended the felicitation ceremony.
