The 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 kicked off today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, with Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurating the state’s vibrant pavilion.

The 14-day event, running from November 14 to 27, celebrates the theme ‘Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat’ and draws delegates and visitors from around the world to explore India’s socio-economic advancements and cultural diversity.

The Odisha Pavilion, dubbed ‘Odisha Mandap,’ stands out as a major attraction, offering an immersive journey through the state’s rich art, culture, heritage, and developmental strides. Located in Hall No. 4 on the first floor of Bharat Mandapam, it features 28 thematic stalls highlighting achievements in agriculture, tourism, industries, trade, and more.

During the inauguration, Deputy CM Smt. Pravati Parida praised the pavilion’s design, expressing optimism that it would captivate visitors. “The pavilion reflects Odisha’s development in agriculture, tourism, heritage, industries, trade, and other sectors,” she said. “The display of art and crafts, spiritual tourism, handlooms, apart from indigenous products of our state, will definitely attract visitors at the fair.” She also emphasised Odisha’s leadership in women’s empowerment, noting the significant participation of women in the event, including products from Subhadra Shakti women, like bamboo jewellery and organic food items.

The ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Special Resident Commissioner Ritu Arora, Additional Resident Commissioner Sucharita Sarangi, and Director, I&PR Anuj Kumar Das Pattanaik, Director (Technical) Gurbir Singh, and Pavilion Director Aswini Kumar Bhoi.

Visitors to the pavilion can experience Odisha’s spiritual and cultural essence through striking replicas, such as the Singha Dwara (Lion’s Gate) of the Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri at the main entrance. Other highlights include representations of the Dhauli Shanti Stupa, Dhokra metal crafts, a model of Paradip Port with a ship, and the Boita Dwara entrance paying homage to the state’s ancient maritime history.

The pavilion also offers live demonstrations by traditional Odia artisans, showcasing skills in Pattachitra painting, Silver Filigree work, Sabai Grass art, and Lac products. Rural products on display range from coffee and organic spices to handlooms and indigenous items, underscoring Odisha’s transformative journey toward Vision @2036.

As a hub of cultural and economic storytelling, the Odisha Pavilion promises to be a visual delight and educational experience, inviting global audiences to discover the evolving spirit of the state.
