In a show of unity within Odisha’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), senior leader and former MP Anubhav Mohanty met with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at his residence today, amid intensifying preparations for the high-stakes Nuapada Assembly by-election.
The discussions, as shared by Mohanty on social media, focused on accelerating the state’s development agenda while strategising for the upcoming poll battle in the tribal-dominated constituency.
Mohanty, a prominent actor-turned-politician and ex-Lok Sabha member from Kendrapara, described the meeting as “fruitful” in a post on X. “Detailed discussions were held on the state’s development trajectory and the upcoming Nuapada Assembly by-election,” he wrote in Odia, praising Majhi’s “positive attitude towards any good work for the welfare of the people of Odisha.”

Mohanty post concluded with a traditional invocation: “May Lord Shri Jagannath’s blessings always remain upon him. Jai Jagannath 🚩,” underscoring the cultural ethos often invoked in Odisha’s political narrative.
The BJP is ramping up its campaign with a major rally scheduled for October 16 in Nuapada, where Chief Minister Majhi is set to attend and file Jay Dholakia’s nomination papers, signalling strong high command backing.
