To strengthen cooperative institutions and accelerate rural economic growth, Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Cooperation, visited Shree Jagannath FSCS in Kataka and Gengutia PACS in Dhenkanal to review ongoing activities and future strategies.
At Shree Jagannath FSCS, Bansal, accompanied by Odisha RCS Manish Agrawal, held detailed discussions on credit delivery schemes, business diversification, and infrastructure strengthening. Senior officials including Kataka Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, OSCB CGM Rudra Prasad Das, and Additional Secretary Sangram Rout were present.
In Dhenkanal, Bansal inspected the multi‑faceted operations of Gengutia PACS, including its consumer store, LPG agency, fertiliser and seed distribution, and paddy procurement. Emphasis was placed on expanding services to farmers through innovative business models aligned with the vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation).
The high‑level review also involved brainstorming future strategies with senior cooperative officials and NCDC representatives, underscoring the Centre’s commitment to empowering PACS as engines of rural prosperity.
