Indian para athlete Yogesh Kathuniya continued his remarkable streak by clinching the silver medal in the men’s discus throw F56 event at the World Para Athletics Championships 2025, held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

Kathuniya recorded a throw of 42.49 meters in his second attempt, securing second place behind Brazil’s Claudiney Batista, who won gold with a throw of 45.67 meters. Greece’s Konstantinos Tzounis took bronze with a 39.97-meter throw.

This marks Yogesh’s third consecutive silver medal at the championships, following his podium finishes in France (2023) and Japan (2024). His consistency has made him one of India’s most celebrated para athletes.

India’s overall medal tally at the event now stands at six: two golds, three silvers, and one bronze. The nation’s para athletes continue to shine on the global stage, inspiring millions with their determination and excellence.
