Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain closed for the public till June 15, in view of the unprecedented surge in COVID-19 cases.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the Puri District administration on Sunday convened a review meeting keeping in view the COVID-19 situation.
As per reports, the officials decided to keep the Srimandir closed for the public till June 15 in order to keep the COVID-19 infection at bay. However, all the daily rituals of the Holy Trinity will continue with the help of a limited number of Sevayats and Temple officials in compliance with all precautionary measures being followed earlier.
On April 24, the SJTA decided to close Simandir for public darshan till May 15. Now, the temple administration has extended the closure period till June 15.
