In a symbolic gesture aligning with the spirit of Raksha Bandhan, the Odisha government will release the third instalment of the Subhadra Yojana, its flagship women empowerment scheme.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will personally oversee the disbursement in Jeypore, where nearly 1 crore women beneficiaries will receive Rs 5,000 each directly into their bank accounts.

The scheme, designed to provide financial autonomy to women, will see a special focus on Kotia, where Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida will facilitate disbursements to over 2,000 women. Additionally, 246 previously excluded beneficiaries will be granted a lump sum of Rs 15,000, covering all three instalments.
The Subhadra Yojana has become a cornerstone of Odisha’s welfare architecture, especially in tribal and remote regions. The Raksha Bandhan rollout not only reinforces familial bonds but also underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
