Nabarangpur: A couple was killed after a truck hit the bike they were riding near Rabanaguda village under Kundei police limits in Nabarangpur on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Ajit Majumdar (40) and his wife Dipika Majumdar (35) of Parchipara village.
As per reports, the mishap occurred while the couple with their 7-year-old son was going to Shiv temple at Sihawa in Chhattisgarh. At the Rabanaguda chhak, a truck coming from the opposite side hit their bike and ran over them. As a result, the couple died on the spot. However, their son escaped narrowly. He sustained injuries on his head and was rushed to the Hatabharandi CHC for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Kundei police reached the scene and initiated a probe into the matter. The dead bodies and the truck were seized. A case has been registered in the police station in this connection.
