Nuapada: Four members of a family became seriously ill after consuming a poisonous mushroom in Sunabeda village under Komna police limits in Nuapada district on Saturday.
The victims have been identified as Amrit Dandasena, Laxmi Dandasena, Sima Dandasena and Bhupin Dandasena of Sunabeda village.
As per reports, they collected a small amount of mushrooms from the Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary area in the morning. After cooking and eating that mushroom, one person after another vomited and had chest pains.
Thus, the couple with their son and daughter became senseless. Later they were admitted to Sunabeda Health Center. After preliminary treatment, they were transferred to the Nuapada Hospital and then admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
