In a major breakthrough against left-wing extremism, security forces seized a cache of Maoist materials during a joint anti-Maoist operation in the Katafar-Chhatapani forest region under Boden Police Station limits in Nuapada district.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Nuapada SP G.R. Reddy led the operation on Friday, involving teams from the District Voluntary Force (DVF) Nuapada and the 19th Battalion of CRPF (Garjanpani COB).

During the extensive search operation in the forested area, the teams uncovered a hidden Maoist dump containing arms, explosives, and other logistics meant for use by extremists.

Recovered Items Include:

  • One country-made gun.

  • 24 country-made gun pellets.

  • 10 gelatin sticks and 3 electric detonators.

  • Approximately 50 grams of gunpowder.

  • 2 solar plates, 1 walkie-talkie charger, and 1 mobile charger.

  • 1 pair of slippers, 1 knife, 1 wristwatch, and 2 nail cutters.

  • 1 hair-cutting kit, 1 wire cutter, 2 electrical testers, and 1 volt battery.

  • 1 voltmeter, 2 bundles of electric wire, and 3 umbrellas.

  • 1 plastic water container and various ration items.

  • 1 DC charger box (inverter type), 6 pencil batteries.

  • 2 rolls of black insulation tape, 1 roll of white insulation tape.

  • 1 Bluetooth headset, 1 catapult (slingshot), 1 plastic rope.

  • 1 vegetable slicer, 1 pair of shoes, and 2 black polythene sheets.

  • Women’s toiletries and undergarments.

SP G.R. Reddy confirmed the seizure and stated that the operation reflects the continued efforts of security forces to dismantle Maoist networks in Nuapada district. Further search operations are underway to trace the extremist hideouts and prevent any possible attacks.
