Odisha Vigilance today arrested Dileswar Majhi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Titlagarh R&B Sub-Division under Kantabanji R&B Division, Bolangir.
The arrest was made following the discovery of disproportionate assets far exceeding his known sources of income.
The Vigilance department conducted extensive raids across several properties linked to Majhi. The searches revealed:
- 🏘️ 4 residential buildings
- 🏢 1 market complex
- 🌐 9 high-value land plots
- 💎 300 grams of gold ornaments
- 🏦 Bank deposits exceeding Rs 49.45 lakh
- 💵 Unexplained cash of Rs 6.57 lakh
Majhi, who reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the amassed wealth, has been booked under Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 13/2025. He will be produced today before the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.
A Vigilance official stated that the investigation is ongoing and further revelations may follow. The case has raised serious concerns about systemic corruption in public works departments and underscores the continued vigilance drive by Odisha authorities.
