To position Odisha’s business and export sectors prominently on the global map, a state-level workshop titled “Leveraging Free Trade Agreements” was successfully held at the Mayfair Convention in Bhubaneswar.
Addressing the gathering, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Gokulananda Mallik emphasised that the global market represents a vibrant new horizon for prosperity. He noted that the primary objective of the workshop is to create awareness among local entrepreneurs, exporters, and business leaders regarding the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) signed between the Government of India and various nations. The initiative is designed to guide stakeholders on how to maximise the benefits of international market opportunities.
Echoing similar sentiments, Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain underscored the urgency of boosting Odisha’s export capacity and expanding its footprint in international commerce. He expressed confidence that the workshop will serve as a significant milestone in elevating local businesses to the global stage.
The event focused on translating India’s trade pacts into concrete global opportunities for Odisha. Key dignitaries in attendance included Agrim Kaushal, Senior Economic Adviser and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India; Rashmita Panda, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the MSME Department; Aboli Sunil Narwane, Director of Industries; and Manoj Singh, Additional Director General of Foreign Trade, alongside senior government officials, industrialists, and trade experts.
