New Delhi: Election Commission of India has transferred West Bengal DGP Virendra and posted P Nirajnayan in his place with immediate effect.
The ECI said in a notification on Tuesday that the decision has been taken in this regard after reviewing the poll preparedness in West Bengal.
The notification has asked the Chief Secretary of West Bengal to report about the compliance of the order by Wednesday.
