In a dramatic escalation along the India-Pakistan border, the Pakistan Army launched a massive drone operation on Thursday night, only to suffer a devastating failure. Over 50 Pakistani drones attempting to infiltrate Indian territory were swiftly neutralised by India’s advanced air defence systems.
Following India’s precision missile strikes on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Pakistani forces retaliated by sending swarms of drones towards strategic locations near the Line of Control (LoC) and International Borders (IB). However, Indian Army Air Defence units intercepted and destroyed the drones in critical zones including Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot.
The engagement saw extensive deployment of L-70 guns, Zu-23mm systems, and state-of-the-art anti-drone technology, demonstrating India’s robust aerial defence capabilities. Reports suggest that Pakistan also violated the ceasefire along the LoC, prompting India to issue a firm military response.
Tensions remain high as speculations arise regarding the downing of a Pakistani F-16 fighter jet by India’s missile defence system. However, no official confirmation has been provided yet. Despite the aggressive incursions, India has reported no casualties on its side.
Residents near the border described a tense night but expressed confidence in India’s defence strategy. “Our forces are giving Pakistan a befitting reply. We trust our Prime Minister and our Army completely,” said a local resident.
With border tensions continuing to escalate, the situation remains fluid as both nations brace for further developments.
