A new Police Aid Post was officially inaugurated at Siali under Erasama Police Station in Jagatsinghpur District on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Satyajit Naik, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Central Range, alongside Ankit Kumar Verma, Superintendent of Police, Jagatsinghpur, and Sri J. Sonal, Collector & District Magistrate, Jagatsinghpur.

The event was attended by key administrative officials, local law enforcement leaders, journalists, and community members, including Ajaya Kumar Das, SDPO, Tirtol, as well as the Inspectors-in-Charge (IICs) of both Erasama and Kujanga Police Stations.

Situated roughly 27 kilometres from Erasama Police Station, Siali is a prominent coastal area known for its scenic beach. The newly established Aid Post will bring police administration significantly closer to the local community, serving an estimated population of 32,000 residents spread across 61 villages within four Gram Panchayats: Padampur, Gadaharishpur, Goda, and Jankadeipur.

Speaking on the initiative, officials highlighted that the primary objectives of the Siali Police Aid Post include:

  • Enhancing Police Presence: Strengthening visible law enforcement and effective coverage throughout the coastal belt.

  • Rapid Response: Guaranteeing swift assistance for emergencies, public grievances, and local incidents.

  • Public Safety & Order: Maintaining peace and law enforcement efficiency across the four designated Gram Panchayats.

  • Boosting Beach Tourism: Ensuring a secure, family-friendly environment for visitors and tourists travelling to Siali Beach.

  • Community Trust: Fostering stronger police-public coordination and deepening citizen confidence in regional law enforcement.

The establishment of the Siali Police Aid Post underscores Jagatsinghpur Police’s ongoing commitment to building an accessible, responsive, and citizen-centric policing network, particularly in the district’s vulnerable coastal and high-footfall tourist zones.

When the customer raised the issue, the restaurant representative reportedly responded dismissively, asking how they could be expected to spot insects inside a cauliflower and stating that nothing could be done.
Despite the complaint, the customer and his friends were required to pay the entire bill. The incident raises serious concerns about food hygiene and the restaurant’s handling of customer complaints.
