Gidipabali landslide body recovery

Rescue operations at the Gidipabali landslide site in Ganjam district reached a sombre milestone on Thursday with the recovery of two more bodies from under the debris.

With this recovery, search teams have now retrieved the remains of all five members of a single family—comprising a couple and their three children—who were buried when a massive landslide struck the area. The continuous search and rescue drive, which has been underway for over a week, saw emergency responders navigating treacherous terrain to locate the victims.

Following the formal recovery procedures by local authorities, the bodies were handed over to relatives, and the last rites of the five family members were performed in the village. Police and rescue teams continue to monitor the site as clearing operations progress.

  • A customer at Regal Food Park in Infocity, Patia, allegedly found insects in the cauliflower served in a vegetable curry. When the customer raised the issue, the restaurant representative reportedly responded dismissively, asking how they could be expected to spot insects inside a cauliflower and stating that nothing could be done.
Despite the complaint, the customer and his friends were required to pay the entire bill. The incident raises serious concerns about food hygiene and the restaurant’s handling of customer complaints.
