South Indian actor Dhanush met over 3,000 women executives and volunteers of his official fan network on Sunday, intensifying speculation surrounding his potential entry into Tamil Nadu politics.
The gathering took place at a private engineering college on the outskirts of Chennai.
The meeting follows the official rebranding of his fan association from “Dhanush Fans Clubs” to “Dhanush Narpani Iyakkam” (Dhanush Welfare Movement).
The transition was approved during an executive meeting in Coimbatore on October 14, where a new logo featuring a red star with the actor’s image in a greeting posture was unveiled.
Political speculation has intensified in the state following actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) gaining significant ground. Representatives from major state parties, including AIADMK and DMK, have noted that anyone has the democratic right to enter public service. Meanwhile, reports of Dhanush’s recent visit to Delhi to meet political leaders have added fuel to the buzz.
While Dhanush has previously urged his fans to focus on grassroots social welfare activities across their regional areas, he has yet to make an official announcement regarding a formal political debut.
