Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Karel Havlíček, in New Delhi on Oct 13, 2026.
During the interaction, both leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral defence industrial cooperation.
Expressing satisfaction over ongoing joint ventures, both sides agreed to further expand co-production and technology partnerships, particularly under the framework of the India-Czech Joint Defence Committee. The initiative aims to support India’s ‘Make-in-India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision for defence self-reliance.
The leaders also discussed pressing global issues regarding peace and regional security, emphasising that the strategic partnership between India and the Czech Republic is built on shared democratic values, historical ties, and mutual trust.
Mr Havlíček is currently on a four-day official visit to India. As part of his itinerary to engage with government ministries and trade representatives, he is scheduled to visit major industrial hubs in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
