The 183rd State Level Bankers’ Committee Meeting of Odisha for the quarter ended March 2026 was convened on 6th June, 2026 at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Bhubaneswar under the chairpersonship of Chief Secretary, Odisha.
Odisha’s Chief Secretary Anu Garg, IAS, emphasised focused attention on credit to all sectors for balanced and inclusive growth and stressed the following :
- Credit in all sectors must align with Odisha’s Vision Document, with a focus on new areas such as Tourism, agri-entrepreneurship, deep sea fishing, food processing industries, etc.
- Service Sector to be accorded greater focus in the next phase of development and credit expansion.
- Ease of Doing Business initiatives should be promoted to facilitate investment and enterprise growth.
- Credit flow to encourage women entrepreneurship; progressive migration from SHGs to SMEs,
- All Controlling Banks, Lead District Managers (LDMs), Departments and District Administrations were urged to work collaboratively to achieve the targets set for the current financial year.
- From “Red Tape to Red Carpet” approach for ensuring investor-friendly credit flow.
Principal Secretary, Finance, Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, emphasised the complete adoption of CKYC.
Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Govt. of India, Shalini Pandit, highlighted the need for improvement in the CD Ratio at par with the national average.
RD, RBI asked all the Banks to increase the banking network in rural areas.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Govt. of Odisha, Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Govt. of India, Regional Director, RBI, Secretaries of Tourism, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Handloom, textile and handicrafts, MSME & Mission Shakti Departments, Directors and Senior Government Officers, ED, Uco Bank, Convenor, SLBC, Controlling Heads of all Banks including NABARD.
Top three performing Banks and Districts were also awarded on this occasion.
