A shocking incident unfolded near the Orissa High Court in Cuttack on Tuesday when a woman allegedly poured petrol and set vehicles on fire. Video footage captured her igniting a Scorpio SUV and throwing flames toward the court premises.
Eyewitnesses reported that the blaze spread rapidly, engulfing nearby vehicles. Within minutes, two scooters and an electric bike were reduced to ashes. Thick black smoke rose into the sky, creating panic outside the court while proceedings continued inside.
Firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving alerts. They attempted to control the flames, but by the time they arrived, the vehicles had already been destroyed.
Police from Lalbagh station detained the woman at the site. Officials confirmed that she admitted to setting the vehicles on fire, though her statements about the motive remained inconsistent. Investigators are reviewing the video evidence and questioning her to determine the reasons behind the act.
