Vishnu Deo Sai Sworn In As Chhattisgarh CM

Vishnu Deo Sai took oath as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday at Science College ground in Raipur. Along with Sai, his two deputies Vijay Sharma and Arun Saw were also administered the oath.

The oath-taking ceremony was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. 

Ahead of swearing-in, Sai offered prayers at the Jagannath temple in Raipur and also paid tributes to freedom fighter Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee by garlanding their statues at different places, news agency PTI reported.

He performed customary rituals at the temple and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in Chhattisgarh, a statement issued by the state public relations department said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party registered a thumping victory in the Hindi heartland state.
