Fans of former India captain Virat Kohli can breathe easy as his official Instagram account has been fully restored after being inaccessible for several hours overnight. The profile, which boasts over 274 million followers, is now back online with all 1,044 posts, including photos and videos, visible again.
Kohli’s sudden disappearance from Instagram sparked widespread concern and speculation on social media platforms, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where the star cricketer began trending within an hour. Several fans questioned whether the move was intentional, with some even speculating about his future in international cricket.
However, there appears to be no cause for alarm. Kohli’s account was restored around 8:30 am on Friday, and there has been no official clarification so far regarding what led to the temporary outage. Notably, his elder brother Vikas Kohli’s Instagram account also went offline around the same time and remains unavailable.
As news of the restoration broke, fans expressed relief and excitement online, with celebratory posts and messages flooding social media. While the account is active again, Kohli has not shared any new posts since the restoration.
Kohli’s Strong Form on the Field
On the cricketing front, Kohli was last seen in action during the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, where he continued his impressive run in the 50-over format. The right-handed batter scored one century and one half-century in the series.
Across his last seven ODI appearances for India, Kohli has registered three centuries and three half-centuries, underlining his consistent form. Following the series, the 37-year-old travelled to London to spend time with his family.
Kohli is expected to return to competitive action in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, where he will represent Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He is also likely to feature in India’s ODI series against England in July 2026.
Earlier this month, Kohli briefly reclaimed the No. 1 position in the ICC ODI Rankings, though he was later overtaken by New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell after the latter’s standout performances against India.
