Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is closing on a comfortable win in Varanasi from where he has been an MP since 2014. However, his winning margin in this Uttar Pradesh seat could witness a major dip this time.
As per the latest data from the Election Commission, Modi’s lead over his closest rival Congress Ajai Rai is by a margin of 1.5 lakh votes. On the other hand, Congress’s Ajay Rai has garnered 403382 votes.
Uttar Pradesh Congress chief and candidate from Varanasi, Ajay Rai asserted that the exit polls released after the conclusion of the seventh and last phase of Lok Sabha elections were fabricated.
