Secret treatment of Lord Jagannath continues inside the Anasara house. On Anasara Shasthi today, servitors will apply Osha or medicine to the deities.
This special ritual will last for the next three days. Servitors already applied Phuluri oil to the deities on Anasara Panchami yesterday. According to tradition, the Lord recovers from severe “fever” after receiving Phuluri oil and Osha treatment.
The Raja Vaidya guides this Ayurvedic process, which servitors perform in complete darkness. Meanwhile, Ratha Yatra is only 10 days away. Construction of the three chariots has reached the final stage. Workers now complete fitting of kani phaoudi and mandani bata on all four sides.
Chitrakara servitors paint the charioteers, horses, and other external parts of the chariots in vibrant colours. Devotees eagerly await the grand festival as these sacred rituals and preparations gain momentum in Puri.
