A tragic tractor accident in Baipariguda, Koraput, claimed the life of a student and left three others critically injured on Sunday night.
Five girls from Majhiguda village under Ramagiri panchayat had travelled for brick-loading work. After completing the task at Dhepaguda village, they were returning home when the tractor overturned near Dhepaguda. The vehicle’s trolley crushed Anjali Badapadia, who died on the spot.
Anjali Badapadia, a Class 10 student of Gopal High School, had recently appeared for her matriculation examination. Three others sustained serious injuries and received treatment at Jeypore and Baipariguda hospitals. Among the five girls, one was an adult while the remaining three were minors.
Ramagiri police reached the site soon after the accident. Officers seized the body, conducted a post-mortem, and handed it over to the family. The investigation continues to determine the cause of the mishap.
