Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviews ongoing oil, gas projects in West Bengal

Kolkata/Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the entire eastern India will be donning the role of a game changer in the field of energy sector.

Pradhan, during his three-day West Bengal tour, said Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and the eastern region will soon acquire the nomenclature of ‘Gate way of Energy’ of India.

The Union Minister reviewed the projects being implemented by Indian Oil, BPCL, HPCL and GAIL at Haldia. He discussed about the projects with Union Petroleum Secretary, Tarun Kapoor, and other officials about the progress of the work.

During the review meet, the Union Minister stressed on the use of alternate energy. Pradhan said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged that self reliance is the catchword for all round progress of the nation on energy sector.

The Union Minister also went round the Lube Oil Base of Indian Oil and discussed with the officials about its progress. Worthwhile to mention here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to dedicate to the nation the projects relating to natural gas and road transport projects at Haldia tomorrow.

The projects will be of Rs 4,700 cr. These projects include 347 km long Dhobi-Durgapur natural gas pipeline, LPG Import Terminal and 4 lane RBO Cum Flyover at Haldia Ranichhak.
