Two warders of the Choudwar Jail in Cuttack have been suspended for negligence in duty after Two Prisoners escaped from the jail.
The Chief Warder also faced suspension for lack of supervision. Jail authorities blamed poor vigilance for the security breach. The escape exposed serious flaws in prison management. Officials ordered strict action against those responsible.
The Prisoners broke iron rods and fled from separate cells. The prisoners used a blanket to scale the rear wall. Security staff failed to detect the escape in time. Authorities launched a search operation across nearby areas.
Jail DG directed Cuttack Range DIG to investigate the incident. The probe will examine how the prisoners managed to escape. Officials will review surveillance systems and staff accountability. The jail department promised a detailed report soon. Security protocols will be revised to prevent future escapes.
