East Coast Railway announced major infrastructure work at Puri Railway Station, prompting temporary changes in train schedules from March 11 to May 16, 2026.
Project Details
The upgrade includes Ballastless Track construction in the station yard and development of Platforms No. 7 and 8. To facilitate the work, several trains will be short-terminated or short-originated at nearby stations, including Sakhigopal, Bir Purushottampur, Khurda Road, and Malatipatpur.
Train Adjustments
Key trains affected include Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Puri Express, Gandhidham–Puri Express, Kamakhya–Puri Express, Tirupati–Puri Express, Sealdah–Puri Duronto Express, Valsad–Puri Express, Sambalpur–Puri Intercity Express, Indore–Puri Express, Sri Ganganagar–Puri Express, Rourkela–Puri Express, Talcher–Puri MEMU, and Howrah–Puri Express.
Short-originated services will operate from alternate stations on specific dates. Passengers should check NTES or the Railway Enquiry before travel.
Passenger Convenience
Bus services will connect short-terminated and short-originated stations with Puri to ensure smooth transit for passengers. Officials emphasised that the project aims to enhance passenger amenities and operational efficiency at the station.
