In anticipation of the grand immersion processions of Goddess Durga on October 3, 2025, the Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has issued a public notice detailing traffic restrictions and designated immersion sites across the city.
The move aims to ensure public safety and smooth vehicular movement during the festive celebrations.
Four major Bhasani Committees—Shaheed Nagar, Nayapalli, Chandrashekharpur, and Old Town—will lead the immersion processions along pre-designated routes. Traffic restrictions will be enforced from 2 PM to 1 AM under the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003.
🚦 Key Traffic Diversions:
- Shaheed Nagar Procession: Route: Shaheed Nagar → Ram Mandir Chowk → Master Canteen → Rajmahal Chowk 🚫 Janpath Road closed; vehicles to use Sachivalaya Marg
- Nayapalli Procession: Route: Nayapalli → C.R.P Chowk → D.A.V Chowk → Gopabandhu Chowk → Siripur Chowk 🚫 Diversion at C.R.P Square via Ekamra Park Road
- Chandrashekharpur Procession: Route: Club Town Apartment → Damana Square → Nalco Chowk 🚫 Vehicles from Nandankanan to Jaydev Vihar to use KIIT or Kalarahang Square
- Heavy Vehicles: 🚫 No entry on service roads from Khordha; use NH/main roads instead
