A horrifying case of violence has come to light in Kotakosanga village in Puri district, where a minor boy and a youth were subjected to brutal torture by a group of miscreants.

The victims were tied to an electric pole, beaten mercilessly with iron rods, burned with cigarettes, and forced to drink urine, allegedly due to mistaken identity during a local fair.

The attack has sparked widespread outrage, with human rights activists and local residents demanding strict action against the perpetrators. Following a formal complaint, Balanga Police have launched an intensive investigation into the matter.

According to reports, the incident unfolded during a fair in Kotakosanga, where two youths from Birat Sahi were misidentified as rivals by a group from Kotakosanga and Pradhansahi. This misunderstanding led to the vicious assault, leaving one of the victims with serious head injuries.

Family members rushed to the scene and rescued the victims, who were immediately taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The police have assured swift justice, stating that those responsible will not be spared.

This disturbing case has intensified demands for stringent legal action and better policing to prevent such inhumane acts.
